The Computer Rack
- "The Rack" is a new deployment
of an old idea - the loft bed. The constant in many residence
halls is a lack of living space, and "The Rack" addresses
that very situation.
- What's more ubiquitous in the
college dorm room today than the requisite CD player? Yes
of course - it's the computer.
- The typical dorm room generally
has a study desk as standard furniture, either free standing
or built in. Also typical is the fact that they are small,
cramped and not designed for today's technological devices.
- The Computer Rack provides
an additional work surface that is both big and strong. Supported
on one end by "The Racks" ladder rung, the oppostie end is
supported by a pair of strong steel tubular legs with feet
levelers for accurate leveling. The work surface is a full
24x60" to house even the biggest monitors. It can be easily
installed on either end.
- Equipped with the same grid
system as the Storage Rack, any number of organizing devices
can be used. Of particular use are the shelf and bracket
systems, which further enhance the usable space by getting
scanners and printers up off the desktop.
